Distributed generation (DG) systems offer significant benefits such as reduced line losses and improved combined heat and power (CHP) capability. However, the lack of accurate, unbiased performance data impedes their implementation.

To help remedy this situation, ASERTTI has sponsored the development of protocols for laboratory testing, field testing, long-term monitoring, and case studies as well as a national database to house the resulting data.

NYSERDA has sponsored a number of CHP development sites, and two of these sites are currently participating in the ASERTTI program. This web site serves as a gateway to the performance data for all the NYSERDA CHP demonstration sites.

	NYSERDA administers the New York Energy Smart program, which is designed to support certain public benefit programs during the transition to a more competitive electricity market. Some 2,700 projects in 40 programs are funded by a charge on the electricity transmitted and distributed by the State's investor-owned utilities.
	The solutions developed by Connected Energy Corp. (CEC) enable an organization to use the massive Internet infrastructure to securely interact with energy equipment and systems at a distance. When compared with traditional solutions, CEC's COMSYS solution reduces the cost and complexity while increasing the security and intelligence of remote system management.
	ASERTTI's mission is to increase the effectiveness of energy research efforts in contribution to economic growth, environmental quality, and energy security.
